The erstwhile Mysore Chamber of Commerce, the precursor of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry, was established on May 8, 1916, in Bangalore. Starting with W.C.Rose, an Englishman who was its first President during 1916-20, the Chamber has had a distinguished array of businessmen and industrialists as its Presidents. In keeping with the changing times, the name of the organization was enlarged into Mysore Chamber of Commerce & Industry during 1966-67, which again had to be changed to Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) in 1973, with the renaming of Mysore State as Karnataka under the linguistic reorganization of the States. The FKCCI today has a membership of over 2400 drawn from all sectors of Trade, Commerce and Industry, spread over the entire sate, including 150 District Chambers of Commerce and Trade Associations.
The Federation offers many services, which are of direct and indirect benefit to all members.
